Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
Gedam is built to respect both your privacy and the sacredness of your devotional life. The app is offline-first: by default, everything you do stays on your device. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
Gedam is operated by Wole Holdings LLC (Missouri, USA), which is responsible for your data under this policy. You can reach us any time at contact@gedam.app.
The short version
- You can use Gedam fully without an account — your data stays on your phone.
- We show no ads, use no third-party advertising or analytics trackers, and we never sell your data.
- An account (optional) only exists to sync your data across your own devices.
What we collect
On your device (no account needed): your habits and completions, your progress on the ascent, your chosen tradition and app preferences, your Bible bookmarks, highlights, and notes. This lives in your phone's local storage.
If you create an account (email & password, or Sign in with Google): your email address, and a synced copy of the on-device data above, so it's available on your other devices.
How your data is stored
When you sign in, your data is synced to our backend hosted on Supabase. Every record is protected by row-level security so that only your account can read or write your data.
The optional AI companion
Gedam offers gentle, personalized encouragement. When enabled, summarized statistics about your practice (such as your first name, your tradition, and how consistently you've kept your habits) are sent to Anthropic's Claude model to generate a short reflection. We do not send the contents of your private notes. This feature can be ignored, and it does not run if you are not signed in.
Notifications
Reminders are local to your device and opt-in. They are scheduled on your phone; we do not send remote push notifications.
Your choices & deleting your data
You can clear local data by uninstalling the app. If you have an account and want it and all its synced data permanently deleted, you can do so from within the app (Profile → delete account) or by emailing contact@gedam.app from your account address, and we will remove it.
Where your data is processed
If you use an account, your synced data is stored and processed in the United States by our service providers (Supabase for storage; Anthropic, only if you enable the AI companion). If you use Gedam from outside the United States, you consent to this transfer. We share data only with these providers as needed to run the service — never with advertisers or data brokers.
How long we keep your data
On-device data remains until you delete it or uninstall the app. Account data is kept for as long as your account exists; when you delete your account, its synced data is permanently removed.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data at any time by emailing contact@gedam.app. Because we do not sell data, run ads, or track you across other apps or sites, there is nothing to opt out of on that front. Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK or California), you may have additional rights under local law, which we honor.
Children
Gedam is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new date.
Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
